Hi trumpeter's stuck at home!
I hope this finds you well. While this has been a trying time in so many ways, it has been inspiring to see all of the ways musicians (YOU!) have found to keep the music going. This is a little project that I've been chipping away at for the last month or so in between between changing diapers, playing dress up and building box slides.
The idea for this piece partially grew out of my realization that many are in a very similar position as me: at home… trying to practice… with little ones. I wanted to come up with a fun way to play the tunes that are part of the soundtrack of a parents life (for a time, anyway): Nursery Rhymes. So this Nursery Jam is what I came up with. It's a 2 -3 minute jazzy medley of 8 classics. I have two daughters (2 and 5) so these are songs that are very present in my life these days. ; )
I realize these are tough times for many musicians so from June 2 - 14, I'm offering it for free with an option to buy-in as co-commissioner, and be listed as such in the published version, for $7. If you are feeling the pinch, please don't feel any pressure to sign up. For any that do sign on, you have my gratitude. For everyone, I hope you get some enjoyment out of the piece. I had a lot fun putting it together.
