Escapewas written for the University of Maryland graduate brass quintet and was premiered at the conclusion of my Masters Degree recital. Written in a cinematic style, it depicts a rapid decent down Castle Crags (pictured below) amidst a violent storm. it works great as an opener/closer and is a blast to perform
Jens Lindemann, Ryan Anthony - trumpets Martin Hackleman - horn Keith Dyrda - trombone Patrick Sheridan - tuba
"...destined to become a standard."

"Escape plays like a major motion picture soundtrack. With it's infectious rhythms and soaring melodic lines this work has something for both player and listener. McKee has made his mark in the brass world and has set the stage for many sequels to come."

"Escape is one of those pieces that really energizes a concert, and always seems to generate a lot of enthusiastic comments from the audience afterwards. It's also very well written, a joy to play. Kevin has written a classic for brass quintet."
